I need ideas on how to make a dvd, showcasing my collection. I had thought about taking pictures of stuff and making it into a slideshow dvd. suggestions? and should I use a dvd rom?

I would use a Rewritable DVD, that way you can make updates as your collection expands!

4.7 GB is a lot of pictures, or some BIG pictures!

I have seen somebody make videos of their coins so that the different angles and luster could be seen.

Do they call those dvd r's? or should they say rewritable dvd? it doesn't matter if I cant keep adding to it, ill just make a series of dvds.lol

DVD RW = Rewritable

DVD R = Write once

My first thought is to to use something like Roxio Creator to assemble everything and burn it to a playable DVD, but there might be something better (cheaper) out there.

I have moved this to the Coin Photography forum to cast a wider net.

Not sure at what stage level you are in? I believe PowerPoint or Excel can achieve what you're looking to get out of.

If you already have the slide show, why not just upload to any free photo hosting account like: Photbucket.
