What kind of lens do you use for taking pics of gold dollar commems? I can do ok on the halves but just can't get a sharp pic of the gold ones.

While I am far from being an expert, I use a copy stand for stability and the macro setting, no flash, and the timer to get out of the image. I am about to try "axial lighting" (having the light illuminate from the sides versus overhead).

Someone of experience is sure to chime in soon.
