Anyone ever encountered this dealer? I bought a Franklin half that he had listed as a mint state coin. The picture certainly looked mint state. He sent me a coin that is maybe VF-20 with gouges and even with doctoring the picture is definitely NOT the coin I bid on and won. He refuses to answer my emails. He hasn't left me feedback so I'll just let it go I guess and avoid retaliation on my 100% rating.

Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself. You were wronged and you shouldn't let this seller off the hook.

I've bought from a "mikescoins1". The coins weren't as good as advertised, but with the negs and neutrals I didn't expect them to be, so I bid accordingly.

If its the same guy he has 235 total negs, and 179 neutrals in the last 6 months, nearly every one for overgrading.

Over grading I can handle. I can grade for myself - but it is dishonest in my opinion to sell you a different coin than the one pictured in your listing.

I bid on a lot. I can understand the frustration of not getting the coin pictured. Especially when he/they don't tell you its not.

How many feedback do you have? One neg might not hurt. Kinda like my Calc 2 professor in college. I received a B in her class (which ruined the 4.0) and when I tried to plead my case she told me it was a freeing experience to not try to be perfect.

I understand. I was just explaining my experience with the seller.

I would stay awate from this dealer at all costs. He posts stock pics of BU coins and sends out cleaned junk...Bait and Switch...Read the fine print on his auctions...a few years back I purchased 3 rolls (60) BU common date/mm morgans...received 3 months later and all were either cleaned w/ obvious hairlines or obviously dipped/chemically treated....Good Luck...a negative won't do much Mike's Coins much harm...he has plenty already...to boot, he's a powerseller and the Bay gives sellers with that tag a break on feedback calculations.

Is this the guy your talking about? The only reason I bought these are because he took my offers. $5 a piece for the Franks and $13 a piece for the dollars. It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten them in the mail yet. Now you guys say the coins are stuff. LOL, this isn't good.

If you paid by Paypal, open a Paypal dispute stating that you didn't receive the item represented in the auction. If you didn't pay by Paypal, open the dispute with ebay for the same reason.

Forget about leaving feedback or the feedback you'll get in return. That really doesn't mean anything. If enough disputes are started with this seller and he does nothing to resolve them, ebay will eventually take care of him (much like estatedoctor). If you do nothing, he will be able to continue to defraud people over and over again.

I really like his blurb about making a "best offer"

Please note for best offers that if you put in a best offer significantly below my asking price, the quality of the items will likely be toward the bottom of what is being offered. Conversely, if you put in a best offer ABOVE my asking price, I will send you coins BETTER than what is described in most cases.

Gotta love that...

His return policy makes for interesting reading:

>>We reserve the right to charge a 10% restocking fee for all returns.
>>Often, the coin shown in the picture is an example of the type of coin and/or grade, and may or may not be actually available in the auction. While the vast majority of customers agree with our grade, you may be someone that doesn't.
>>However, if you leave negative feedback for us you void your return privilege until the feedback is removed.
