After tons of examination, I've narrowed it down to a Maris 43-d. I was working primarily from the reverse, as the obverse is almost obliterated except for the horses head, which has faint signs of detail such as ear and snout.
The shield, points to the left side of the 'U' of PLURIBUS almost perfectly, even under the corrosion, this was clearly evident. The 'I' of PLURIBUS is also in the correct position for the variety.
With 4 other possibilities, one of which there are only 2 known, they just don't have the same horse head detail as this coin.

If you wish to verify your ID, you can contact Don Hartman. He will have that thing ID'd in about .02 seconds.

I recently dug a lousy condition and 3/4 cut NJ copper. Somehow Don still ID'd it for me, amazing!

I've met Michael Demling, another New Jersey Copper guy. Very knowledgeable as well. Haven't met Don Hartman. Believe he is a member of C4...I'll have to look into that.
