This Malaysian coin is the only 14-sided coin I'm aware of. I used it in my first forum quiz. But for really funky shapes, you can't beat (1) ancients and (2) emergency money. To illustrate my point, here's a piece of ancient emergency money: It's a base-silver (more like "pewter") stater of the Celtic tribes of north-western Gaul (France) circa 57 BC, struck by refugees fleeing the advancing Roman armies. Large numbers of these coins have apparently been found on the island of Jersey, just off the coast.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Just because they look fun I'm going to pick these up. They are official coins of Federal Republic of Somalia.

India is always a good source for coins with uncommon shapes, espescially the Princely States, here's only one example: Image: indiaLunavada.jpg24.04 KB or british India, with a huge hole: Image: britishIndia.jpg21.03 KB This large coin (47 X 27 mm) seems to have really circulaed in Tonga, at least it shows clear signs: Image: tonga.jpg49.95 KB

Hmmmm...just discovered my link in posting above won't open..will try to repost tonight.
Also: why do some images open automatically and others just show a link to the image? Is there a trick to that?
