I got this penny just today. I would like to hear how people think it grades. The photos are poor as usual from me....sorry.

I know it is a common date but is it worth slabbing. Would it get 64?

I am convinced it has not been cleaned. The lustre is a little streaky, especially on the reverse which gives the impressions of hairlines in the photos.

Seem to be a lot of marks on the obverse, assuming it hasn't been cleaned, I'd say MS63RB.

The lustre looks a bit uneven and my best guess was an old fingerfrint or some oil got on some patches.

62 or 63rb, I'm 95% sure it wouldn't get a 64

thanks dcoin and wwww!

Not really worth slabbing unless it might get 64 so she'll stay raw

The trick is to try to keep that beautiful golden red tone. A screw capsule would be the way to go.

I had this coin out today and was playing with it. I think I've managed to capture it a little better now.

Not too shabby at all enwarb, Beautiful coin.
I would guess MS63 rb
To make MS64 it would need to have quite a bit more lustre present.
I don't know what it is about the coins minted in 1936, they are available in quite high grades.
It may be that they were saved because of the kings death or they may have simply been made better

I would guess due to the large mintages and the fact it is the last year struck with the King George V bust and classic style reverse.
