hey guys, I listed this coin on ebay and all I know is itsa beauty. I dont collect US but could use help on grade and value. I checked some US graded coins and to me this fits right up there with some of the better ones in AU & MS grades .Its loaded with original luster , full solid strike, and even nicer in hand with the toning. Im using an old 2005 Red Book for reference http://www.ebay.com/itm/15092862103....m1558.l2649

Interesting coin, to say the least. Believe this coin would need to be in a TPG slab for a grade. Some of the CB collectors will hopefully chime in.

Your coin has nice detail but shows no luster in the images and appears to have environmental damage. I'm not trying to insult you, but the price you are asking on ebay is ridiculous. You are asking $1,000 more than that coin is likely worth. If this coin was in a problem-free, top tier (PCGS or NGC) slab, and graded MS63; then it would fall into the price range you have it listed at. As is, it would likely sell at an AU Details price or about $200. Again, I'm not trying to offend you but rather am providing an honest opinion based on the images.

I agree the asking price is unrealistic. Detail is solid AU, maybe even approaching mint state but the dark areas seem to show a bit of corrosion and luster is very substandard given the level of wear.
A coin like this might work well for a collector looking for a sharply-detailed piece for type. The price will have to come way down to attract a buyer.

Yeah, price is off but there is some very obvious original luster on the obverse. The dimes tended to tone black like this, and I don't know why. I don't see any scratches or cleaning, so I don't know why it would grade details. It seems to be a very genuine, honest coin. I don't recall ever seeing a coin downgraded or called details because the toning was unfavorable.
Great coin, and thanks for sharing.

thanks guys , the coin in fact is loaded with original luster...I tried many light sources to capture it but it is real hard..Either to bright or to dull....The price is only a price.I had some collectors tell me this based on the new Red Book... thats why I have it as best offer.... I'm hand shes a beauty ....

Nice dime! If I had a dime like yours I would send it in to be graded.

Great looking example, Maybe if it doesn't sell you can send it off to get graded. It might attract more buyers. Good luck.

I agree with AU details. I think the toning may be too dark for it to be considered problem free. I think a TPG might call it environmental damage.

Okay yeah, the second set of pictures show it as having 'environmental damage' as opposed to just dark tone and have a more natural color. I'd probably call this a slider with a chance at getting an Unc details grade; having apparent 'wear' due to a wiping rather than actual circulation.
