I am starting to upgrade some of my bills to higher quality so thinking of selling my excess bills on ebay. For those of you what are the gotchas? How do you ensure payments are cleared before you ship? What shipping level do you use? I would appreciate anyone sharing their experience. Thanks.

Paypal seems to be the money transfer of choice on ebay. Once the "paid" moniker is illuminated (rather than shaded) you got paid. I always place the bill in a semi-rigid currency sleeve. I use the cardboard "photo" mailers with currency and add another layer of reinforcement to sandwich the bill to ensure it does not get folded in transit. USPS 1st Class with Delivery Confirmation usually runs under two bucks (three ounce default). Insurance would be required on items of greater than $100. No complaints on my shipping practices.

Thanks, so much for the response. It seems I remember hearing a long time ago about payment being pulled back from sellers and that has me a little paranoid I guess.

Is there some reason that you don't want to offer them to the members here first ?. I see that you have more than enough post to sell here. I may be a buyer but I don't do very many auctions.
Please check out my Want to Buy list in the Wanted section of this forum, there's a bunch that I'm still looking for, both Large and Small size notes. Bill Collector

I just haven't really looked into how selling and payments work on the forum. But to answer the question I have no problem offering bills here.

Not totally sure yet. I have 7 bills at PCGS for grading. But a lot will depend on what I pick up. Right now I expect 1934D $5 and 1934C $10 plus I have 2 $10 North Africa notes coming and will be looking to move the lower quality one. But nothing is in stone yet.

Thanks halfhunter, for pointing starbuxinvestor and any others in the right direction.
If anyone has any of the notes on my list I'm a buyer. Or I will trade any of my duplicate notes for what I need. And they don't have to be graded, in fact I prefer that they are not graded as I can do that myself but will take graded notes if I have to. Bill Collector

I wish there was a separate section for Coins and Paper Currency, it would make it a lot easier to sort through and look for things. Bill Collector.

Your best bet for notes with higher value would be to ship with a tracking number. If you ship regularly you have no valid proof (according to PayPal) that you have shipped the item and the buyer can pretend never having received your banknote and open a claim on PayPal which he WILL win and automatically the full amount that he paid will be refunded to him from your PayPal balance. Also, according to PayPal, it is your responsibility to make sure the item arrives to the buyer, and as described.
