i have them only because I'm 19 and plan to collect until I'm 119, I know coins from 1912 in MS-60+ go for a lot because they're old and in amazing shape. imagine if someone pulled a BU roll of large cents out from a collection how much it would sell for (keep in mind a lot less mintage)
i know people are hoarding them now but I'm in it for the long run and imagine how many rolls each day get broken by accident or bent ect. mine will be standing tall for a hundred years!

jakedacc, a 1912 penny in MS is worth more not because it is old, but because it is uncommon. First off, you needed to be well off to stash coins back then, a penny could buy what a dollar can now. So even a quarter away then was like putting a 20$ away now. It can be done, but a small number of people might consider doing it. Also, coin collecting was different. People wouldn't care about dates and would want one per type, so that also diminishes the amount of coins kept away. Even if you collect until you're 119, it's doubtful they'll be worth a lot then. Most likely nowhere near what a 1912 MS is worth now.

oh I totally understand, like I'm not saying they WILL be worth something but who knows, if I'm going to continue collecting why not hold on to them and see!

Yes, as collectors tend to do in general, to my gf's dismay. All I'm saying is you might want to put money aside for your old days and not just count on your rolls of 2012 to retire :P

Jakedacc, what to you is a reasonable price? and where are you located? I have a few that I was going to hang onto, but would be willing to part with for a fellow CCF member. I am looking for 1 roll of non-magnetic, so maybe we could make a trade.
