A question:
Each member of the club has the opportunity to have
his or her last name engraved on the rim of the gold medal
along with the member number. The number will automatically be engraved.

I originally wanted my name included to honor my father who got me started collecting.
But now I wonder about the secondary market. I won't sell it as long as I am alive and kicking.

The total mintage might be well less than 100.

Your opinions welcome.

I would go ahead and have it engraved. I believe you should enjoy YOUR medal to the fullest and not worry about how some future collector might value it. From what you've said, having the piece engraved will add special meaning to it -- how can one put a price on that!

commems,
I showed the Krugerrand to my sister and her husband and both wondered why I would spend money to swap an ounce for an ounce.
Of course, the answer is, "To have our family name as part of it!"
Well, that changed my sister's opinion. "OF COURSE, THAT is why you would do it."
And as only members can order one gold example each, the name of the member, to my way of thinking, is part of the provenance.
Thank you for your reply.
