the reverse is stunningly beautiful,
but, using the above pic, the obverse looks like a weak strike of the effigy, although the legend looks as good as the reverse.

From what I can see it looks like a pretty good strike on the obverse.
Lots of detail in the crown, the hair, ear and the cloak.
the lettering is perfect.
the reverse is stunning.
Fantastic 3d coin and tough to get in this condition
If I was a slabbing man this would definitely be a contender
I would pay $60 for one of these in a heartbeat, Fantastic pick up

That's the beauty of buying Australian coins from overseas Trout, there are fewer bidders

You seem to be getting a few good coins from overseas. The only thing that has put me off in the past is I think the risk is a little higher.

It seems as if there is more of a chance that the package getts lost and less chance of getting a refund. Have you had any negative experiences or have they all been good?

Probably the only countries I would consider buying from are US, Canada and GB. I've seen ebay listing fairly regularly from one seller in France. The poorer english in the listing puts me off a bit. Do you have a list of countries you will buy from?

Mostly get them from US and GB and have pinned down a number of sellers that keep offering
high grade Australian coins.Sometimes its a nervous wait for the delivery and can take anything
from 1 to 4 weeks and so far I haven't lost a delivery.I also try to buy from sellers with good
feedback. There's plenty out there if you look hard enough and delivery is generally no risk IMO

HeHeHe
I have picked up some absolute stunners from the States.
Most of the collectors there treat Aussie coins as "dark side" coins and very few bidders as you mentioned.
The main problem I have with the US listings is that many sellers wont take bids from Aus ( Canada and US only on a lot of items)

I have got some nice coins from Canada but I feel the the "Snow bound could be Aussies" are far more canny with their coins and the price is reflected in this
