In the 5th pic the S is isolated, the tail of the S looks strange and there is a raised area in the S as well. Also what is that layer of metal over the date, like another layer as if the metal was pored onto part of the numbers. Does this coin look cleaned to you? The tone is amazing to me, I really like it.

The mint mark looks normal to me, and all I see s a die chip in the date. The coin does not look cleaned to me. If it has been, it was a long time ago. Very impressive photos though. Come take photos for my website. I could sell out with photos as good as yours.

I also see a rim-to-rim die crack on reverse.

Ya I like that die crack to. Seal006 thanks for the compliment, I use my HTC Thunderbolt while holding a loop. I do not like the USB digital camera I got a few months back. I am now finding great results with my scanner, believe it or not.

Nice example! I seem to recall date chips were pretty common in the 1950s.

wish I had the coins that came after that crack broke off. maybe I can buy it from someone if it is out there. How cool would it be to have the sequence of coins involved in the forming of a variety coin.
