Thanks @zookeeperz - well spotted! I don't particularly look for these overstrike varieties, so I hadn't checked.
The area of the 6 is fairly rough under magnification, but there does seem to be a serifed stub protruding from the belly of the 6.
Either way, it stays with me!

Iconic British 1849 Godless Florin . Probably the most controversial British coin ever struck. It's name derives from the omission of Dei Gra or DG (meaning 'By the Grace of God') and Fid Def ('Defender of the Faith') and so the coin became the 'Godless' Florin. Cleaned sadly but about EF in detail

Nice coin Zookeeperz! And 7000 odd is a high mintage for those. They're like hens teeth!

@ spyro yes I think only 1928 had a higher mintage with 9000+ . I guess its down to surviving numbers in high grade which for the most part apart from 1934 with 932 struck these are still quite easy to locate although most are between GVF-AU. I think had it been MS-64 it would of been beyond my range

Yes. They keep their price well too. Apparently originally issued as "keepsakes" rather than for circulation. Portent of things to come as far as The Royal Mint was concerned!

Loving your Crown crown, Zookeperz! Yours looks almost matte. Were they sandblasting the dies by 1933?

Just received this 1762 threepence I found on ebay. I wanted a circulation issue from George III's reign that was cheap but halfway photogenic to pose with my monster 3d and 6d coppers from the Birmingham Workhouse to show the size differential. This will do the job, and the price was right, but it does look as though it's been molested somewhat in the past.
