Interesting, Dearborn...a silver-plated halfpenny, and the "back" in the ebay listing is clearly the reverse of a halfpenny. The "back" you posted earlier had a wreath-like effect toward the rims and what looks like part of a shield at the top.

Meanwhile, a Google search on "repousse dies" led me to this photo on Pinterest captioned "Original die set used to pop out LADY LIBERTY on a popout coin." Can't tell where it originated, but I'm learning a lot of new stuff today.

Well that is interesting. the details of the face dis looks raised not incuse a I would expect to see. and the reverse die seems to lack the details and appears incuse (to me) to imprint the raised face on a planchet. Maybe it is just the lighting that is tricking my eyes..

As to the back of the unidentified brooch/coin above - a lot of the detail is similar to a Victorian silver sixpence. Some of the leaves are difficult to match, and the device under the patent stamp should be the top of a crown and clearly isn't. Maybe that was part of the die used to create the design, along with the patent block?

@Dearborn it was a raid from your backyard . I guess it's one of the very few coins that the US almost completely ignores. I got the 1946-1949-1950-1951. All from the US . It may take a while for them to surface but when they do it is so worth the wait.
