Was doing a box of pennies today and found a blank planchet penny. The first one I have ever seen in person. Thought it was very cool.

Always fun to find one.
Is it a blank or a planchet ?
Blanks are really rare to find in rolls.

I would like to find one but I will have to buy one for now. How do we know if the ones on ebay are for real?

I have a blank planchet penny as well.

Was going to send it in to NGC for grading.

Any thoughts on the eventual numismatic value of such an item?

Not worth slabbing, the fees would amount to more than the value which is about $3-5.
