I have received the pictured 20th Century coin set from my mother after my father passed away last May. I realize the coins are not valuable, nor do I have any particular interest in keeping them together as a set. Just curious on member's opinions on whether to break them out of the set, or keep them together in the set. Opinions please?

Sorry for your loss. If they have sentimental value keep it as is, if not then set them free,IMHO.

Turn it into a treasured memento. Get a photo of mom and dad. Place the photo in a shadow box or frame with the coin group. A nice reminder of dad and a future family heirloom.

PS Your Barber dime is sleeping. SSSHHHHH.

I agree with mds. Creating an heirloom is a nice touch.

If they came from your father, you should keep them as a set. Sentimental value is difficult to buy.

Sentimental value is IMPOSSIBLE to buy.
A shadow box, with photos, is the way to go.
Each and every heirloom should be added to and passed onto the next generation.
A note can be added: "These were important to dad."

Way, way back in time my Dad gave me a coin. I still have that coin and he is now long gone but that coin is still with me. I see him in my head every time I see that coin.
I suggest as most others already have, make it a momemto of your parents.

I would keep them as a set for sentimental value like stated above. HH
