I wanted to compare the above coin to one being sent to me as I type this. This could be interesting when the dust settles !

Last year I was putting all my energy into building a 7070 type set. I got within 3 or 4 coins of finishing and decided to break it up and work on a proof Barber dime set. It's been slow going, but I'm really enjoying it. The last couple of dimes really caught my eye where dates I already have. One of the pitfalls of working on finishing a set I guess. I'm trying to shoot for PR66 or higher if at possible but I may back off to PR65 as that extra point is seeming to limit things a bit. Anyway here's what I have so far, only 6 coins in and 18 to go (there's no 1916 proof). If I ever finish it I think I'll start a proof Barber quarter set.

Tbone - beautiful Dimes !!

Thanks for sharing.

I only have a couple Proof Dimes,
lower in grade than yours, however.

...." latest Quarter Collection..."

I didn't say " newest Quarter Collection".

Really makes no difference. My first collection was ranked # 1 on the PCGS Registry for three or four years - until I retired the set in August, 2011. I started another set [ my latest / newest / collection ] this past March.

I'm well on my way to yet another set in MS. I just added another four in 58 today - and have a bid in on a group of another dozen or so AU 58 Quarters.
Rest in Peace

A humble contribution.
My first and only Barber half dollar. Picked it up recently.

Broken out of an ANACS holder. Any guesses on grade?

Hondo has tasted his first Barber Half. [He likes it!] Congratulations!
The coin is a VF-30 and might have gotten a 35.
The cheek abrasions are not too bad and I believe they let them pass.
Reverse - NO problems at all.
Rim bump? Not a worry. Really, halves, when they fall to a hard surface, get these.
If it got a 40 then ANACS has gone liberal with its standards.

Well done Hondo.

Great, your opinion of my coin makes me very happy!

The-25-Days-Of-Barber-Coins!!

I paid a very fair price for the ANACS grade. If its undergraded (I agree that it is) then all is good!
