I agree with AU-55 details. The coin looks overdipped with the milky appearance on the reverse possibly a result of improper rinsing after the dip. While whizzing can sometimes be subtle, the coin does not appear whizzed.

I did? If so, I apologize since that was not my intention.

Hmm I suppose rereading your post, you didn't. I'm quite confident it has been whizzed though.

Your coin looks great to me. I dont think its been harshly cleaned.
That sai I am pretty sure most old silver coins have been cleaned at one tome or another.
In one of my books on coins, the author says dealers at one time cleaned every silver
coin that passed through there hands. And today still many dealers and collectors chose to clean their coins.
And why not? There coin to do with as they see fit. And if a dealer says the coin is cleaned then you have
all the info needed to make up your mind to buy or not to buy.
Enjoy your great addtion to your collection. I have been working on a complete date and mint mark set of barber halfs for quite a long time. I would add this coin to my collection in a heartbeat.
Looks Au-50 to AU-53

No offense, but are you sure we're talking about the same thing here? I think most people agree it was likely cleaned/dipped at some point, but whizzing involves a high speed rotary wire brush that typically leaves faint hairline scratches. I don't see any such evidence, so I'm wondering what you are seeing?

An expert coin doctor can usually whiz a coin leaving little to no hairlines. That coin was polished. No ands ifs or buts about it. JMHO.
