This 1859-s $10 gold in a PCGS-Altered Surfaces holder sells for $2,340.65 on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1859-S-PCGS...130745387117
Than, amazingly, the buyer cracks-out the coin and sells it for $4,250 on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-RARE-...230845139727

With no mentioning of the Altered Surfaces.....guess the coin healed itself

In comparing the two ebay images I believe they are different coins.

Another:
This 1861 $2 1/2 gold in a PCGS-Cleaned holder sells for $500 on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1861-U...320993709100
Than, amazingly, the buyer cracks-out the coin and sells it for $641 on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-KEY-DA...330814124991
With no mentioning of the Cleaning.....guess the coin uncleaned itself

This guy is something else. Moral here....do not buy raw coins on ebay.....they're just cracked-out certified problem coins

Good eye.

The second seller says
Quote:
I do not grade coins

But clearly he can un-grade them.

"this is business, so what?"

It is against ebay rules not to disclose known information about a product.....in this case, coins. The buyers have to base their bidding upon pictures and the sellers description (unless the coins in an accredited TPG holder). Generally, only novices will bid on $1000+ uncertified coins and they may not learn of the serious problems with the coin until it is too late. ebay created the CCW to help stop people like this seller from perpetrating their fraud upon ebay buyers. Without watchdogs like the CCW, PNG, BBB etc, to stop these disreputable people, than ebay and its members will suffer.

Are you really serious with that comment?
Has anyone contacted ebay with the findings of this seller? I think two examples from the same seller would be plenty for ebay
Rest in Peace

I've tried this before and had a few listings removed, but only really obvious ones and they will not suspend the seller...

I reported these listings to Judith( ebay) and to the CCW. I found them to be quite effective in the past......refer to NARU'd seller Neyronix. All we can do is report it and see what/if something happens.
