Does anyone know where I can find some information and perhaps values for Workhouse tokens. I know these tokens were issued by several of the workhouses in England from around 1812 during a national shortage of coins. I was asked by someone to help him sell these tokens but before I can do that I would like to become more informed about these tokens. Thanks Derek

I've seen a few on The 'bay, and I've "watched" them, because that is an era that I am interested in, but they consistently fetch very high prices for a little bit of bronze or copper.

Thanks Noah, I tried ebay before but for some reason I didn't find any completed listing. Thanks for the link as well as the link to the other info pages. They should make for some educational reading.

Peter I believe the ones I will be getting have many silver ones as well as the bronze ones. It doesn't appear there are too many silver workhouse tokens for sale on the bay.
