Quote: Barryg, web's are not that expensive in chcu as long as you are NOT into block combos. Good to know, thanks. I'm still not convinced they are different enough to be considered a separate "type," but if I happen to run into one in my travels at a good price I might just pick one up anyway.

RE: web notes
I picked one up a couple of months ago for $3. It has seen a little bit of wear but it is otherwise fine.
I'm not normally a note collector but I figure those are not going to get cheaper any time soon. Mostly I thought it would be fun to have and I am pretty sure I won't find one in circulation.

barryg; I really like what you have put together so far. Once you start something like this, I believe it's hard to stay away; meaning wanting to complete it NOW. I was that way with the 7070 set, something I stayed away from knowing it would be an obsession to complete.
I would like to know what type of albums or album you used, meaning did you separate the large and small notes, or combine them into one? Is the history also under each note? I'm seeing this as one of my next projects. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, mfhorn! Yeah, I really have to resist the urge to try and buy everything at once. One of my greatest faults is impatience, and I tend to buy lower quality notes that I can afford right now rather than waiting until I can afford better quality examples. Fortunately, I have a 7-year-old son who is also into coin and note collecting and I can pass all my "rejects" on to him if and when I eventually upgrade. I wish I could have found a single album to hold all the currency, but I simply couldn't find one that could hold both small and large bills. Well, technically I suppose I could have put everything into a large bill album and bought lots of extra pages to make up for the lost space. Hmmmm... I actually didn't think of that, but now I'm thinking it might work... Anyway, what I ended up doing was purchasing separate albums for large and small notes. I purchased the following from Wizard Coin Supply: HE Harris Deluxe Currency Album - Large NotesHE Harris Deluxe Currency Album - Modern Notes

Or.... Since the pages are completely interchangeable between the two albums, I can just combine the large and the small note pages together in one album! In fact, I just did that.
Now I have an extra album with a bunch of leftover large and small note pages, but that's fine - one more thing to give my son...

All right, here are some pictures of my newly combined currency album showing both large and small note pages intermixed: The small note pages include some space to describe each note to the right of each note. There's no room for that with the large note pages, but I suppose I could always tape a strip of paper beneath each note with the description. I suppose I could have saved a little bit of money by simply buying one album of either size and then buying a bunch of refill pages for the other size. Ah well, live and learn...

Glad you approve! I spent a lot of time trying to find something analogous to a 7070 album, but finally gave up. It's probably just as well, though, since a real commercially-produced type album for currency would likely contain labeled spots for a whole bunch of notes I would never be able to afford in my lifetime. Maybe someday when I win the lottery I can start collecting $5000 and $10000 notes...

I like the album idea, but I don't think that my PCGS/PMG/CGA TPG sleeves would fit...maybe the PCGS (side tab).

Probably not. But then, I don't tend to buy graded coins or currency precisely because I like to keep them in albums...

Quote: Maybe someday when I win the lottery I can start collecting $5000 and $10000 notes... I believe that is what it will take, unless you have a ton of money in the family. I like the idea of just the one album, but I'm sure one day you'll have enough large and small to use both. I have looked at the same albums in Wizard, but didn't have enough notes to justify them. Now after seeing your arrangement, I will get the large one. Just wait........once you get your collection the way you want it, Dansco will bring out a Type set for currency. Thank you for your advice and help, barryg.
