The is a 1980 Roosie. What are your thoughts on what caused this? The CuNi layer is gone from a section of the reverse with copper showing through. Could this be a missing lamination peel? PMD? Faulty planchet?

Looks to me like erosion from being stuck in the ground too long.

Looks like a metal detector find to me. Especially with the wear on the obverse.

It could have been in the ground. This was found in change.
