I found this coin in a house 30 years ago. Can anyone help me identify it and could you tell me if it's genuine?

Thanks!

Not a Fugio, but a copy (presumed until proven otherwise) of a Continental Currency pattern coin. My avatar may look familiar; it's not from the coin, but the Continental Currency fractional paper note, which preceded the pattern dollar-type coins by months, and the Fugio cent-type coins by 11 years. The notes and the Fugios circulated (though rather unsuccessfully); the Continental Currency pattern coins never did to any great extent, so the few genuine examples that remain (mainly in pewter, a few in brass, and about four in silver), are extremely rare, and have been admired and lovingly copied again and again over the years. Any visitor to the historical sites here in Philadelphia when I was a kid could find them at the gift shops, between the crinkly-parchment copies of the Declaration of Independence and the three-cornered hats.

And new12collector, couldn't you find a better Fugio to post a picture of? This one's a really ratty, low-end excuse for a... hey, wait! That's MINE!
