Every time I come on to this site it is very slow. It took maybe 5 minutes just to load this page up, then another 5 to be able to post, every time it is very, very slow.
I had thought that it was because I am in China, but the internet has gone much faster since a few days back due to the congress thing and choosing a new leader and they do some things to make the internet slow down.
But this site is still very slow for me.

I am not experiencing slowness at all. Checked the stats for the last 24 hours and less than 1% (.81) of over 134,000 page loads took longer then 2 seconds. This particular page took just over 1/10 of a second.
It took 0.12 seconds to rattle this change.

I have the very same problem, intermittently but regularly. I also had the same problem with another page, Heritage Auctions, and got together with their IT people to see if it was on their end. A lot of experimentation, including giving them remote access to my computer to see what they could see, pretty much proved it was due to my ISP.
Just like your browser caches pages you visit locally so they'll load quicker the next time, so does your ISP. Just to be safe, clear your browser cache but it probably won't help. Chances are it's your ISP. Try another browser to see if the problem remains; if it goes away the cause is on your end but I don't think it will help.
The next time you post a reply and it goes slowly, make sure you look to see the "rattled this chance" message Bobby mentioned. Chances are you'll see that message reflects a very fast posting time, even though what you see on your screen moves very slowly. If that is the case, it's your ISP and there's not much you can do about it aside contacting them. I don't know about China, but here in the US, contacting your ISP about some problem is about the same as contacting a tree in your back yard about it.

And I find Firefox to be the most reliable as well. Most often the quickest, too. I no longer use IE nor Opera, though they are still available to me.

I use IE (10, which is now also available for Windows 7) and Chrome and they both work fine.
An easy way to determine if there are issues, is to look at the page generation time (as reported by Bobby) and if the value is low (as it normally is, we have less than 1% of the 130,000+ daily forum pageviews taking more than 2 seconds to be generated by the server), you will know the problem is not with Coin Community.

Maybe I could help... The Wifi in China (where I was born) is only fractional than the Wifi distribution in Canada. It really depends, in my experience. Do you use wireless or wired network? Wired was too slow when I was in China. Plus, you must understand that this site may not be a website that the chinese government is familiar with. You maybe the only user in the entire China. This could raise your suspicion.

Okay, tried windows explorer instead of google chrome and it seems to be working a lot faster, not fast. The internet speed doesn't seem to have the much to do with it as it is slow, but it is only recently that this page takes ages to spark up to life and the same with every page.
