I'm pretty sure what looks like horizontal scratches is just on the plastic layer covering the coin, and by the N in Columbian that is something stuck underneath the plastic but not on the coin istelf. So what do you think?

It looks like there is some wear on Christopher's cheek and a few other high points. I do not think it would make Mint State.

Obverse looks cleaned or rubbed with abrasive material. The reverse at the top has impact damage. I don't think it would make an AU grade. Also, look at the sails. See if the vertical lines connect without interruption. The obverse looks like more wear than the reverse. I'm leaning into XF plus. My rookie opinion.

I wouldn't hazard a guess with the coin in that album. That's akin to playing Russian Roulette. Just understand it's easier to mark a coin with those lines than it is an album.

Better condition than mine. Usually, I'll take the coins out of the holder when I post for grading. Just takes the guessing out of it for those grading. I do like your coin though!

Wow!! That is an enormous risk to take! I would definitely ask the seller for pictures out of the album (or at least with the plastic slip removed).

IMO, the coin's obverse has been harshly cleaned and should be avoided...

I am thinking it might be somewhere around the VF-30/35 but it might be cleaned.
