After recently completing my WWII North Africa note set with some ease, I decided to move onto starting a Hawaii set. I was able to win an ebay auction for a PMG graded AU 58 $1 note for a great price, then just recently won another auction for a beautiful ungraded $20 note, which aside for a few small staple pinholes, looks incredible.

While perusing auctions and listings on ebay for the final two notes for my collection, I've come to realize how much harder they appear to get a hold of. What I mean is I see far more $1 and $20 notes than $5 and $10, and even those listed have either been heavily circulated, or if they are desirable are so outrageously priced I don't bother to give them a second look.

Was the print run for these notes much lower than those of the $1 and $20 notes, or is there something else at play that makes $5 and $10 harder to find? Thanks,

Print totals Hawaii and N Africa for 1,5,10,20(in millions):

$1 Hawaii - 35.1
$1 N Africa - 27.1

$5 Hawaii - 9.5
$5 N Africa -16.8

$10 Hawaii - 10.4
$10 N Africa -21.8

$20 Hawaii - 11.3
$20 N Africa - N/A

Hope this helps in your searching

The Hawaii notes are a bit different then the North Africa notes. In a way they are harder because of the print runs. I am not entirely sure on exact specifics but the one dollar Hawaii notes that has A prefixes carry a large premium, especially in high grades. Also note that the Hawaii $20 and North Africa $10 notes has another series that does not have the A after the year. These are usually more expensive as well.
