The below expert below in bold was from CSI website. I suppose he feels like the grading companies are coming out of the woodwork like termites. His site clearly tells the story of the things to expect in the years to come. Seems if a dollar can be made the possible chance for fraud increases. It seems it has come down to as always buyers beware. Hello all I just got back from a long vacation and glad to be back able to read the forum again.
Earn more money from home in the next thirty days than most people earn in a year! Obituary:
The strangle hold the big grading companies had on the coin grading business is dead!
In the past the big grading companies controlled over 95% of the business. That is all about to change. There are no licenses required to be a coin grading company. There are no set guidelines one is required to follow. Grading a coin is simply a matter of opinion and everyone has opinions.
There are currently dozens of new grading companies and in the next few months there will be hundreds. In fact, in the next few years there will be thousands of grading companies. There are many professional coin grading cases on the market. They are even mass produced in China.

ebay can kick you off for a certain amount of Negs, It used to be 10 negs in a month, and they would suspend you for a month, I don't know what it is now. They usually suspend the first time for 30 days, the next time for a year, and the next time three strikes and they are out, completely

Nope, there's sellers with 1,000's of 'em. 3 NPB's and you're out though. That's why filing NPB's is important as a seller, not leaving a neg.

I purchased a GEC coin on ebay from Sullys coins. It was a 1970 S proof Kennedy half dollar. The coin is slabbed by GEC as a PR70 DCAM. I paid $15 for the coin, including shipping. I usually expect the minor grading services to add five or more points to the grade. I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase though. There were just a couple of tiny spots on the coin. I'm not very experienced at grading high grade coins, but I guessed that the coin may have graded as high as PR 68, but there was no hint of cameo contrast on the coin, let alone deep cameo contrast.

ORC, welcome to the forum! Plenty of expertise here and it sounds like you're already well-versed in alphabet self-slabbers and know what you're looking at and for. Sully's coins (sullyscoins) doesn't have a real good reputation among serious collectors and his feedback shows it http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...130122870252 (ToolHaus site was down) but if one knows what one is doing, some good buys can be had from him. I took a quick update look at his Morgans. Seems his keyboard is stuck on MS-67. By most grading standards, an MS-67 Morgan will have no bag marks yet all those I looked at had several or many marks.

quote: I asked him: Does the ebay user agreement say that you can invalidate any sale just because you feel like it? I don't remember reading that one.
Yes the ebay users agreemant DOES say he can do that. The seller is under no obligation to complete the sale and if he doesn't there is nothing that ebay will do to him. With the buyer on the other hand, they inform you that your bid is a legally binding contract and if you don't go through with the sale they may sspend you, and after your third NPB you will be banned permanently.
