Here is what I do know, I think it is a Laxmi goddess coin but the reverse does not match anything that I can find. I can not read it so I have no idea what it is. I am pretty sure it is Silver, and maybe .999 but that is actually upside down?

If you have any idea I would be appreciative. Thank You.

Got some other stuff, is it Lord Lakshmi, Goddess of Wealth Lakshmi, or just Laxmi?
"999 silver." Here is the hindi translation for silver "चांदी"..What is Hindi? / Hindu?
Also the reverse is supposed to say SHRI or something like that.....I like the search for clues...

It's a privately made silver round from India. We've seen similar, though not identical, pieces on the board before. This really old thread has one, or rather an imitation of one; the item in that old thread is clearly not silver, so I thought the "999" markings were a date of some kind.

Here's another in a more recent thread, featuring the elephant-headed deity Ganesh.

This figure Lekshmi is known as Gaja Lakshmi, that is Lekshmi with elephant. The letter on the reverse embedded among the rays is "Sri". The legend on the periphery is a Mahalekshmi stuti, a poetic verse praising Lord Lekshmi. This is a token beyond any doubt. That 999 is not a date. It reads "999 chandi" meaning "999 silver". But it is not guaranteed. Similar tokens are common to be issued by several firms as presentations during special occasions. Both the sides are upright.
