I do not know whether this applies for silver coins but I was advised never to scan a gold coin with a FACE on it with the light coming from below Allways scan with the light coming from above the face so the shadow is below the face they told me
The 1921 isn't any specific VAM due to the die cracks; I can't attribute what VAM it is based on the scans, excellent as they are. Is that doubling I see at the jaw? I know that scans can create the impression of doubling where none exists.
OK, I am going to try to show you some of my 1921,1921-D and1921-S
The other 1921 Morgan posted before does have double chin and nose.
The others posted below has a lot of various doubling in chin, dates, some die clashes. Not sure if it means much.
I also have a really neat 1887 Morgan with some stuff going on there too. Some kind of die clash under the eagles neck. If anyone is interested I will post in the variety section. Maybe I will do it now anyways.
