I know you've all seen these charming little plastic trays next to the cash register at many local stores. They're designed for the consumer to take a penny if you are short on your bill or to keep from getting a bunch of change back if you are anti-pocket-change. Or you can leave a penny for the next customer. My local, privately run post office has one of these plastic trays. Early last week I saw this in the tray so I replaced it with one of mine:
Need-A-Penny,-Take-A-Penny---Have-A-Penny,-Leave-A-Penny
Then late last week I saw this in the tray and replaced it with one of my own:
Need-A-Penny,-Take-A-Penny---Have-A-Penny,-Leave-A-Penny
Then today I sent off a package and noticed this in the bowl which I gladly replaced with one of my own. I need to check this place more often:
Need-A-Penny,-Take-A-Penny---Have-A-Penny,-Leave-A-Penny

My memory isn't the best, but I remember that James Joyce said we find what we are looking for. Don't stop beleiving. (Hey, who said that?!!)

I snagged a 1944 wheatie from one of these change jars while on vacation a couple of weeks ago but then put it into one of those spinning coin vortexes by mistake. Good thing it was a common date!

Oh that must suck. I got a star $1 bill in change once. I only realized it when I saw the star in the serial number as it was being fed into a soda machine.

Stop drinking soda. Not only for your health but for your stars too.
