I found this 1972D lincoln with those ...what ever it is ...Those areas are slightly raised.First I thought it might be a clash,but not really so sure.Thank you for any info
This is indeed a clashed die strike LMC ... often referred to as "Jail-House" Lincoln as the reverse image of the Memorial appears to (visually) put Mr. Lincoln in jail.
