Any Doubled Dies Here? - Coin Community Forum

MickeyBee Valued Member United States 163 Posts	Posted 11/19/2012 03:42 am Dear Friends Just Yesterday in my Lincoln Cent Roll Hunting I found these coins showing some hope. Do you feel that (any) one of these might be a DDO or DDR? If yes,I can re-take the pic for a better closeup is needed. The cents are 1980,1971s,1999,2009. ikandiggit Pillar of the Community Canada 1166 Posts	Posted 11/19/2012 2:49 pm They appear to be Machine Doubling. The pics are a little distorted but from what I can see, the doubling looks flat and shelf-like and I don't see any notching at all. Report this Post to the Staff

If you have a strong loop, look for an extra finger on the left hand holding the book or in that general area of a displaced finger. Once you find one, you'll always know how to tell the difference. I have found two nice DDO LMCs after searching 3 $25 boxes this year. I have found some other nice error coins and key dates but the doubled dies are one of my favorites next to the clash cents. Report this Post to the Staff
