I have a teller at my local bank that calls me when she finds certain coins like Ikes, halves, or anything she thinks might be old, silver or otherwise unusual. She came up with 60 Ikes last month, I paid her back for them and included a nice gift card for the local coffee shop she stops in as a thanks.

Today she gave me this 1880 Morgan dollar she found in a change drawer. I told her she could get $25 or so at a coin shop for it but she preferred to let me have it instead.

You can bet her Christmas stocking won't be empty this year...

Good for you and the personal connections you have built.

Nice coin indeed for $1.

nice coin and nice connections you have built. I only go inside or through drive-thru so rarely, the only one that knows me a little is one teller when I usually buy my boxes of small dollars.

Way to go! I just dropped off 5 Starbucks gift cards to the tellers at my pickup bank today for their help with CWR of dimes. I also ask if they have any large dollars when I go in but they never do. I'm hoping they'll start keeping me in mind from now on if they get any.

I would, since she is pretty hot, but I am happily married and would prefer to stay that way...

Since many bank tellers are not allowed to accept money, the gift card for coffee is ideal.
And, gift cards for ALL of the tellers will turn the entire staff into hunters for you.
Also, would not hurt to include a card for the manager.
What part of the country was that Morgan from? Someplace rural?
