Is it possible to order cases of halves (or any size for that matter) direct from a distributor or do you have to order from a bank or CU? I get funny looks and somtimes refused at my local CU when I get pennies.

I use one commercial bank and one credit union. Both order boxes for me without any problem and without any fee for doing so. Sounds like you're talking to the wrong person or you're using a credit union with a bad attitude and you need a different credit union.

My bank gets em for me, no charge. I've tried BOA as well as my current bank and BOA was a pain.

You would need a commercial account I'm sure, and would be costly.
I've heard several inquiries about this over the years, never heard of anyone with any success on ordering directly from distributor.

I don't believe you can order them straight from the distributor you will have to go to bank or credit union like you have been doing. There are some financial institutions that are starting to charge for ordering boxes of coins for their customers because they say it takes up to much time and sometimes they order them and they do not get picked up so they are stuck with them until they either need them or ship them back which I am sure costs them (at least it costs them the time it takes for the employees to count them). From what I heard more and more are starting to adopt this process because they are getting tired of doing it and this stops most of it as CRH don't want to pay the extra for the service

Also, they may require a minimum order amount (lets say $5,000 guessing).
Can you see your neighbors eyeballing the Brinks truck pulling up to your drive?
"Wow - this guy's so wealthy, he has an armored truck deliver his money!"
And ya know how people talk.

That would be a site to see fistfull, especially in my crappy neighborhood. lol. I went to a different branch today and ordered my first box of halves. By the way anyone else have problems getting coins this holiday weekend. I went to three different branches before I could finally get one box of dimes. Happy Hunting. Cory

Not a good weekend for buying coin, too many merchants to serve on Black Friday.
