I ordered a 1914 $5 on Nov. 28 and a 1913 $5 just a few days ago. I haven't received either. I've called several times and keep being told that they would be shipped by the end of the week. This has gone on for 2 months. I've emailed the mint and the reply said that master club members have priority shipping. That's a bunch of b.s. their business sense is insane.

I'm out of town but my wife said I got a box on the mail. But darn it, it was just the roll of pennies. Now I'm waiting till July to hear the o Canada series box is going to be delayed again. Could you imagine buying a t.v. online, then getting emails saying they are waiting for the remote to be made before they ship it? The o Canada box should be arriving this month but now it's July? 4 more months to make a box? I could make them quicker in my garage! They just don't care because it's not as of you could buy new coins anywhere else. I really hope that everyone that is disappointed with the RCM customer service lets them know, whether it be through email, calls, or best yet, by writing a review that other potential customers can read. I've tried to get my nephew into collecting coins by giving them to him as gifts. Birthday and Christmas gifts lose their appeal when they are 2 months late. I've tested a theory of mine... By opening a new account you will get your first order quickly. And maybe your second, but then you have to play the waiting game. From now on, I'm placing 5 of the same orders on seperate accounts and canceling 4 once I get 1. |

Have any master club members gone on their free tour of the mint? That's a perk of being a member? How many of us live close enough to make it there without spending a fortune on gas?

I just check tour prices. Adults are $4.50-$6.00, depending when you go. Now I feel even more privileged to be a masters club member.

Because of the lowest quantity available to the public. 1914 $10 - 10,964 1913 $10 - 6650 1912 $10 - 1336 It should be noted that the $1912 $5 coin sold out first; before the 1914 $5 one. Of the 3 years, 1912 had the least available coins for both the $5 and $10. Why? Probably the Mint could not find enough of them in good quality. Apparently 1912 coins were the coins most in circulation. Most of the 1914 coins never even left the vault. That is why there is so many of the 1914 $10 coins. |

called to order another $5 1914 coin yesterday, was told that they were out of stock, even with the cancellations. I asked about my original $5 order..they said they will ship 1-2weeks in to march!! I have placed that order since the second day of the MC release ! :@

Just a sincere thank you to the person that posted the alert about the recent availability of 1912-14 gold coins. I just got back into coin collecting this past January. I collected in my youth but our house was robbed and the collection was taken (in 1980 when silver apiked). I have been making up for lost time, buying at a torrid pace, particularly silver dollars. This past week I was able to buy all three of the $5's and two of the 1912 $10's because of this message board. When I pass away, hopefully thirty or more years from now, my family should be pleasantly surprised. However, I am not entirely sure if I can afford this hobby..... This is addictive, right?

I would like to echo pfrien's appreciation to jsinger21 for sharing the information about the availability of the "sold out" gold coins at the mint. I absolutely love the $5 HS coins I have already received and was really happy to add a few more to my collection. Thank you for sharing your discovery with all of us, jsinger21! You rock!  |
