I was at the Royal Canadian Mint Vancouver Boutique this morning. They received the two premium sets ($12,000 set) this morning at around 11:15 am. They were both snapped up in the first 20 minutes. I have to say, they are very beautiful, just as MJT has stated. Beautiful, stunning, and gorgeous, and easily will grade MS-64+. They are even better than I expected! At the Mint Boutique, there was one buyer that bought ALL of the remaining $10 gold coins Hand-Select and ALL the Premium Hand-Select $10, and he also acquired the ultimate Premium Set. He spent nearly $40,000 in a few minutes.

I just got off the phone with the mint. Only another 2-4 weeks before I get my 1914 $5. Sure. I'd bet against that even with 50 to 1 odds.
I sent e-mail, and was told it will ship "in approximately 7-10 days". Squeaky wheel service?

Wow. It is like everyday there are bunch of people hang around the boutiques for the hot items.
Don't know if they bought from their own collection or on behalf of someone (like the new hot Apple products)

Those are invest in these coins are experience collectors and resellers.
They will sit on them for awhile, just wait for the right time to unload them.

Dialog gvf I called again to complain as I was told 2-4 weeks (as I've been told numerous times). The rep gave no reason for the delay but told me that the order was put on priority status and would be sent sooner than earlier stated. She then tried to sell me on other coins that I have no interest in. After all this crap they have fed me the last 3 months, itll be awhile before I order anything else. Customer service at its finest.

This guy is trading $40k today for $60k tomorrow. If I had $ to invest for resale I would too.

well looks like the guy will be sitting on those sets for a long time. $12K per set for less than $4,500 in gold, is laughable.

What about people who paid $10,000 for ms65 1948 canada dollar? Its only 0.6 ounce silver. Are they laughable? I will purchase that laughable silver for 10000

Nice comeback MJT. Anyhow, the premium set ($12k) coins easily grade MS-64+... So he's laughing all the way to the bank on those coins.

even with the best of the best sets there are 140 of them if only a few coins grade ms 65 or 66 those are the only few from the sets that will appreciate. there will simply be too many coins at the new base grade.
