Here is a picture of 1912 $10 coin from the Bank of Canada Hoard, using similar lighting that I took a while back. Pretty clean fields and really not than many bag marks at all, and no rim nicks.

^^^^^^^
It looks similar to my 1912 $10. Apart from the bag marks, my coin is very nice. No rim dings.
The HS coins are very similar to the Premium ones, so I don't think paying the extra $750 is really worth it.

however, in the world of numismatic, the 1 grade difference makes a 1000 dollar coin to become a 3000 dollar coin.

Heritage has an auction coming in Chicago 2013 CICF World & Ancient coins. There are some gold reserve coins graded by PCGS on this auction. Please have a look at the graded MS63 and MS64 10 dollar gold by PCGS. This explains why there are so many MS64 and MS63 that came up recently. I am not sure how those coins could be slabbed with grades like that. I seriously think that some of my premium coins are MS65- MS66 compared to those coins.

Hi MJT, thanks for the letting us know. Heritage has very clear close-up scans of the graded gold coins!

The grading is... let's say breathtaking.

Here is a $10 1914 PCGS MS63. I think the grader is right on the money to grade this coin so conservatively! I don't see gashes, heavy scratches, etc,. etc., at all.
NOT!

Does anyone agree with the grade of the coins? They are all pretty much similar.

lol, almost a proof or specimen. Guess that means my $5 will hit 63 no problem.

So... those who suggested that the market is full of MS63-64 gold pieces... better guess again. If I were a more conservative grader, this would hit MS-60 in my books.

In any event, the trend prices should still be relatively strong, if grades like these are being represented by PCGS Bank of Canada Hoard as high premium grades. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, if I owned this coin 1914 $10 coin and the suggested grade by PCGS was MS63, I'd say, "SCORE!"

The more I delve into this gold offering , the happier I am I stayed away. There are more "baggies" than in a marijuana dealers grow op.

It appears that the big US dealers are getting their graded hoard coins back from PCGS.

SilverTowne just listed a couple of hoard coins on ebay.

It remains to be seen when APMEX and others unload their hoard coins.

Am I the only one that hasn't received there coin yet? I ordered a 1914 $5 hs on nov. 28. This is just plain ridiculous at this point.

I think you should check with the mint. A friend of mine ordered these coins and the reason for non-delivery is the credit card information not matching delivery address.

Nope. Still no sign of mine either. I ordered the same coin on Nov. 28.

I asked the mint about it on March 7 and was told that it would be shipped in 7-10 days. Still no sign of any progress.
