Is it beautiful and looks even "untouched", or it's only mine impression?

Who can estimate the grade from this photo?

Seems, these 1914's are great.

I seem to see chips on the edge of the coin. Anyone else see them? If so, does chips lower the grade?

Yes the streaks on the cheek and neck or elsewhere such as on the 9 in the first pic are not on the coin. There are no chips on the edge of the coin, looking at it in hand and there is no damage. As I said the pictures do not really do justice to the quality of the coin.

@canadian guy

This is an outstanding coin!! Holly molly, hand selected is phenomenal. The reverse is fabulous, and the obverse is gorgeous. MS-63 easy.

Charlton 2009 (most recent I have) lists $5 1914 at $3500. No price for MS-64, MS-65.

Are coin dealers selling these coins? I ordered the 1913, 1914 $5 ones but would like the 1912 to complete the set.

I could never figure why Gatewest coins have every single coin issued by the Mint EXCEPT these gold coins.

Moneypenny, dealers are all quite reluctant in releasing any coins they have in hand. They would like to see what type of coins they receive before they make decision. If the coins are high quality and worth sending of for grading to get premium, they will keep the coin or sell at higher premium. If the coins are lower quality than expected, they will sell the coin according to mint pricing. Everyone have a wait and see attitude and thus even on ebay, you are not seeing much resale or pre-sale.

Very nice gold piece TCG. Thanks for sharing. In Canadian gold MS63 is an elusive grade and is not easily found. Hard to grade your coin from the pictures as the details and amount of bag marks cannot be seen. From what I can see I would grade your coin in the AU50-MS60 range. Still it is a beautiful low mintage example with nice lustre..
I don't know how to post links here on CCF, maybe someone here would be able to. But if you go to the thread "Post your most recent Canadian Coin purchase" page #13, there is a high grade 1914 $5 that you could use to compare yours to. Congrats on your new purchase and it's a beauty.

I can't wait to receive mine and if anything like the one shown here, it has to be WAY over MS-60... However pictures can play tricks on the eye.

One of the 1914 coins is on ebay. Pretty bad, blurry photos. Price point is pretty high.
