You have to sign for it. Most coins I get from the Mint require a signature. Its only those that come by lettermail that don't need a signature

Usually, but not always. I've found boxes with >100 dollars worth of coins sitting in my mailbox. I guess sometimes the mailman just gets tired of carrying the box. But chances are the box will be sitting in a Postal Outlet waiting to be picked up...I think they return to sender after about a week.

@marty, which coin? which year? Anyone else concerned that they might have shipped the best coins first and by luck of the draw, the people getting later shipments get inferior coins? Thinking that might be the case because of the no returns policy on these ones.

Thanks. I'm waiting for the same coin.

My cc was preauthorized last week and my order was updated to processing on Feb 3 (though the item still says status: new order). Anyway, the preauthorization on the cc is gone today.

Thinking it might be March for me too.

Oh no, does that mean the Mint has to dip into the "Melt" pile to get our coins? I am also waiting for my 1914 5$ to be shipped... worry

Just received my 3 $5 HS coins this morning. I APOLOGIZE for my scans, they don't do the coins any justice. I will re try later, and I just wanted give you my feedback.

All three coins have brilliant reverses and look great. However, the obverse fields are very baggy. The 1914 less so. ALL coins are brilliant and look great. I will compare with my graded examples and give you a grade estimate.

So here are more detailed descriptions of my $5...I am comparing them to ICCS AU-50,AU 58, MS 60 & MS62 coins I already own.

1912: Reverse - lots of original lustre, just as nice if not nicer than my MS 60 & 62. Obv very lustrous but baggy fields. Both my 60 & 62 have less marks in the fields, it's more on par with my AU 58, altough my RCM coin has deeper bag markes.
1913: Reverse - contact marks on rim, lettering & numbering, lots of original lustre. Obv: very baggy fields, AU 58ish.
1914 - Reverse - lustrous with clear fields. OBV - very lustrous, lite contact in fields. Nicer than my MS 62, but technically, it's probably a MS 62 or 63.

So probably no surprise at the condition....stored in bags, so lots of minor contact marks, but lots of original lustre with very little wear from handling.

Got my 1914 $10 gold coin. Pretty pleased with it. Fantastic obverse... some bag marks on the obverse. Grades at least MS60+

Coinsplus, a solid MS-62, maybe even better...
