I just spoke to ICCS, and they will be issuing an attribution if you get these coins graded. They have to be in their sealed capsules with the hologram intact, and the fee is $5 on top of the regular fee of $15 for certifying gold coins. The phrase will be probably be something like "ex-Bank of Canada horde" or something similiar.
Does anyone have any idea how PCGS or NGC was going to phrase the designation?

Is it just me or does 'hoard' sound a bit bush-league?! Would something like special release sound and look better?!

What difference does it really make if a particular coin was part of the bank of Canada hoard or not? If two coins are of the same grade but one is not part of the hoard, will that affect the values?

Historical significance increases the value. I think that most people are willing to pay a premium for things like this (I am no exception).

Quote: Historical significance increases the value. Yes. A good example would be the "GSA Hoard".

GSA = Government Services Administration. GSA Hoard refers to a group of more than a million of American Morgan silver dollars that had accumulated by the U.S. Government which they put on sale to the public in 1980.

'hoard' sound a bit bush-league? - I was thinking boorish.
Today I received my 1913 $10 HS. This completes my collection. 3 x 5's 3 x 10's - "They are real, and they are spectacular!"

Horde is boorish...I mis used it the first time in a previous posting. HOARD means "A store of money or valued objects, typically one that is secret or carefully guarded" so that seems better.

PCGS's offering.....I'm sure the ICCS won't be as flashy, but I appreciate their opinion.

@poboxw haha I agree... I ordered the Canadian 1989 Maple leaf 10 years Commemorative Set edition (Proof 1oz of Silver, Gold and Platinum). It comes with a nice maple wood box that coins fit in, very nice presentation... but the coins all have been graded! So I have that nice empty box with 3 empty holes and 3 plastic coffins that doesn't fit in there so I have to display them beside the box!
I wanted this set for years, but now that I have it I'm not satisfied, I just want to trade these graded coins for some ungraded!!
