Decided to get 2 boxes of half's from my CU.
They get them for me for free. Well, I do have to pay
the $500.00 per box though Quick though, as they do come in in 3 days so not bad there.
First time I ever did this as I usually do pretty
good on half's (actually very well)from just searching customer rolls and picking up loose ones from the tellers trays. First box: One single 40% half.
Was thinking of just returning the second box as they both came in together from the same place and at the same time.
I hate opening up those darn crimped wrappers. My fingers hurt. Anyway, decided to go through the second box. Still as of this time have 10 rolls left to go through.
Second box so far: 30 proofs. 28 clad S's mostly nice cameos
from the 80's and 90's and 2 1996 90% silver S's. One 64-D with gold plating on the devices. Nice looking actually. And one Unc. 1976 bicent clad. Do not find many D's in this shape here on the east coast. Will post pics. of them all
when I finish up the rest of the rolls. Not too bad. Glad i
decided to check out the second box.

I've done hundreds upon hundreds of boxes and am still without a modern 90% silver proof half. Nice finds. Don't get used to it, lol.

Heck, used to it ?
You should see what I find in rolls etc.
I just wanted to try this out for kicks.
Might just do it twice a month from now on.
Don't want to keep bugging the woman at the CU.
Going to try and find out exactly where they are
getting their coin from. Just curious. The wrappers
are all N.F. String Co. The yellow and white ones.
I forgot which carrier they use. Either Loomis or Dunbar.
Those are the 2 major ones I see here in Mass. anyway.
The quick turnover tells me that they must get the coin
pretty locally. Going to check next (push my luck:)
and see if I can get some large dollars.

I dump at my other CU. They will not order any coin for me
I'm lucky enough to have 4 and 5 different branches just within a few miles of one another at both of the credit unions.

That's definitely not typical. You just found someone else's dump. Probably a spouse or child of a collector.

Nice find.
