Hello! was wandering round my local car boot this morning, the weather was terrible, its was cold and windy and lots of stalls were packing up early. On one of the stalls packing up I noticed a selection of coins spread out on the table all 50p each. Out of the coins this one cent was the only one I bought as the rest looked like modern world currency. The pictures I took of the coin came out a bit bleached and makes it look more worn than what it is. I know there was a 1822 with an overstrike of a 3 however I checked under the microscope and its definitely just 1823. Did I pay the right amount for it or isn't it worth much?

A flea market. 'Boot' is a car's trunk, and the term comes from people selling out of their 'boots'.

Its a bit like a market however its usually everyday people selling household objects from their car/van(you can buy most second hand goods a car boot sale). I suppose its a bit like a garage sale but in a field or a car park.

"She's got too much junk in her boot."

Just doesn't sound right.

As for your coin, 50p sounds good to me.

Great car boot sale find! This is the hardest Coronet cent to find by far. I also found some good coins at a car boot sale the last time I was in the UK (back in 2007)- found a French coin that catalogs for $65.
