Call me Mr Cynical, but doesn't this seem a bit dubious?

Look at the 2nd picture.

Zero pointer, don't no 'nuthin bout coins'... anyone want to place bets that you don't receive every coin shown in that 2nd pic?

Don't assume that those nice Victorian coins are sovereigns or half-sovereigns.

There are medalets that look awfully similar but are made from brass or white metal.

That's the same group of coins. The second image is 90 degrees rotated - he moved the camera - and the white balance is changed. Not that I'd bid on it.

I understand by the description the seller doesn't know anything about the coins he/she is selling. Also indicated was no questions were to be asked, but, I wonder if I asked if the coins are all indeed round? Think my question would be answered?

What use would that be ?

You can see one, at least, isn't.

He's stated he doesn't know about coins, so there's no point asking which countries or denominations are included, or asking about grading. I don't think he's closing the door on questions, just on questions that only a coin collector could answer.

Far more useful would be to ask him how many coins are there.

I think it will close around GBP 8 or so. You've got about a lb. of a decent mix, the Lincoln looks out of place, though.

up to 36 GBP, someone is either going to get a bargain gold sovereign or get stung for a fair bit of cash for a brass token.
