I sold a bunch of scrap silver coins 17/11 and it is now 28/11/12.
The buyer emailed me last week saying he wold finalise this yesterday. ( after I sent a couple of emails)
This didn't happen, I tried to cancel the transaction but this was refused by the buyer.
I emailed him again yesterday but no answer although he must have been on-line to refuse my transaction request with ebay.
Am I being unreasonable to require payment before 10 days ?
What are my options from here?

Not unreasonable at all, theres really no excuse things should be able to be paid by the end of the next day or at the very least end of next business day. If you can sign on to bid you can sign on to pay especially if its not high value. Open an unpaid buyer case and it will give them 4 days I believe and if they still havent paid at the end of that they will be hit with a mark against them and the sale will be canceled whether or not they want it too whenever you decide to close the c ASE

I just got off the phone to ebay.
They were very helpful and I don't have to deal with this idiot any more.

Glad to hear it. Unfortunately seems like were all destine to run into one of these buyers at some point. I hate waiting for stuff so I always pay right away, but I just will never understand why you would buy something that you plan on paying for weeks later or cant be bothered to take the time to pay for

No I don't think you were unreasonable at all. I usually pay immediately upon the end of the auction. If I plan to pay any later than that I notify the seller. I only pay later than end of auction if I am asleep when it ends, or the seller has other items I am bidding on and want to save the seller & myself time, money, and the trouble of multiple packages.

I assume this goes without saying, but don't forget to block the buyer so they can't lead you down this road again.

I usually stated in my ads that they have to pay within 5 business days else I'll open a case with ebay to get my money back. It usually scare some of them off

Wow, I had to wait 4 days for a payment once and I thought it felt like a long time. The longest I have ever waited without paying for an item was 1 day. I usually pay within minutes if I am home to be able to reach the computer.
