Always amazes me why anyone would submit a coin to a T.P.G. when the coin is worth less than the cost of grading it! The following E-bay auction #181035379948 is a prime example of this. (P.S.: I'm not in anyway implying this particular seller was the one who made the submission to I.C.C.S.)

Thats an easy answer Glenn... I buy coins from people all the time and like most if they are not collectors they think because of the age that the coin is valuable...It has gotten worse since those Road show idiots have sprung up... They advertise coins with values and what they will pay and people see this and think they have the holy grail.....
But the question here is ... Why would ICCS even grade it... I myself would have told the submitter it was worthless in a kind way and not taken their money....
SHAME SHAME SHAME on Brian for doing this.....

Why would ICCS grade it? Well, they are in the business of grading. You offer a service and someone pays you to perform said service. Why wouldnt they?

Someone bought it from asyn as a AU-50 and didn't know better.

I really need to lay off that seller, but he's such an easy punchline.

trends at 12$, maybe in 50 years trend will go up a few bucks, but seriously, ugly coin, ugly grade, very common. silly people!

the best is asyn with his "key date - ms-65" grades. trend would be like 700-800$, sold for 23$, negative feedback from buyer "coin was WAY over graded"

Maybe the submitter had 99 other coins to grade and had to throw this one in to reach the discount level.
I don't think this coin should have made VG8,it's a solid G6.Good luck to the seller, yesterday I sold 28 such low grade GeoV quarters for melt.

jakedacc - I bought one of asyn's MS-66 quarters a few weeks ago. I think it was a 1941. It was $12 and I just wanted to see what he calls a MS-66 would actually grade. It's uncirculated, has nice toning inside the rim, but it's got one of the nastiest marks I've ever seen on an uncirculated coin. It would probably be a 64 without the mark, but the mark brings it down to a 60, no question.
