Any reference to origin would help. Thanks

It appears to be an overpriced one ounce round. I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, unfortunately, that's all I can tell you. I have some rounds with a similar eagle but the other side is different and I have no history or origin for these too. Maybe somebody else can shed some light for us.

Hmm. I want to say this is a coin that was minted by a private company with silver they purchased from the US Stock Pile of Silver Reserves? or something like that. I think the US had a bunch of war time silver that was deemed not needed and some that was sold was minted and marketed in the form of these coins. I may be WAAYY off here and look forward to hearing from others!

This is the reverse of a Trime or 3 Cent Silver coin. It was minted from 1851-1873. The reverse you show would identify it as being minted between 1851-1853 and is referred to as a Variety One. This was the smallest US coin ever minted and is made of 3/4 silver and 1/4 copper. The reverse you show is in very good condition. Usually these coins are quite worn, damaged etc. as they were so thin and tiny. You can look it up in any coin reference.
