Well when bottom feeding one night, I came a cross this for almost affordable. With some previous purchases and my good ol' ancient charm (Jedi-mind tricks) I was able to procure this....for cheap! Kingdom of Thrace Lysimachus (c.323-281 BC) Struck 297-281 BC : Lampsakos Mint AR Tetradrachm 31.7 mm @ 15.11g obverse: Diademed deified bust of Alexander The Great with the horns of Ammon. reverse: BASILEWS LYSIMAXOY- Athena seated left hold Nike resting on shield and spear behind. monogram above crescent inner left field. ref: Thompson 61var. Nice coin! I wouldn't call that the bottom of the barrel, perhaps lower grade maybe.
How much would cheap be for that coin?

The coin impressive in hand. Its worn but struck in high relief on a huge flan. I once thought I wouldnt own one of these but now I do. I am really tickled pink. Its one of those coins that rarely shows its face in "affordable." The coin itself has seen better days but the condition in hand was more then satisfactory. The obverse has that porosity creaping towards the face slightly diminishing the nose, but I can live with it. It is truley wonderful to hold. It has one of the largest flans in mu collection of ancient Greek silver.

I'm fascinated by ancient coins and have yet to make the plunge. You've given me the impetus to go see what I can find. Please don't tell my dear wife my addiction's taken another fork in the road. This coin truly makes me drool. Great score, congratulations.
