barryg, coinwatch,
You guys aren't the only one either. I got burn in ETF with SLV when it was around $30. I buy mostly numismatic coins along with the bullion collectibles these days.

Yeah, I purchased for the long haul and have no plans to sell anything in the near future. Still, it hurts to see so much value evaporate in such a short time.

There's a difference with paper silver and physical silver, I can't touch it!

That is what I got but in a different packaging... May end up getting another one tonight if I win the auction which has two hours left... APMEX sells them too... But I got mine cheaper though. http://www.apmex.com/category/19160...-bars-rounds

Just received that roll of BU silver Kennedy half dollars that I purchased earlier in the week, and they are things of beauty: As much as I try to convince myself to by "junk" silver, I just can't resist teh shiny...

Thanks! There's just something about looking at and holding silver coins that sends shivers up my spine. I don't get the same feeling with silver bars for some reason. Maybe it's just because I can compare these coins to modern Kennedy half dollars and the difference is so amazing.

Quote: Do people still buy "paper" gold and silver? Isn't that so pre 2008 ish stuff. A way to own AU or AG is to take delivery on a "PAPER" gold or silver. The contracts might be a little unfamiliar. Trading paper is very efficient. It boils down to the quick and the dead. The wonderful part of "paper AU & AG" is one can-may do equally well going "short."
