I just picked this book up yesterday & noticed a big price difference from the 2012 guide, so I grabbed it. It was $24.95 + tax...

Yeah, I'd buy it, but my library always has at least one available so I keep it for 3 weeks, return it, sign it out again, and keep it for another 3 weeks. Its almost like I own it!

Same cover price as last year,$24.95.Are you refering to the prices inside the book? Some coin dealers sell them at a discount, check them out first before you buy a copy at a bookstore or online. Wish my library had a copy. They can get one in for me,but it's just too inconvenient.

I've found 2 errors in the book, and a lot of the prices are off from CCN trend.

I think that anyone with any real interest in Canadian coins would want the series that is currently out, for reference. The variety section is a great plus. I have to support the effort of those who put the catalog together. When I get a new coin or 2 , I always pull out the BOOK and check it out,CCN is great as well but more on price fluctuations. Charlton may not be as relative if you are a MS+ collector.

I agree with MrCanada about his comments regarding the book; "I think that anyone with any real interest in Canadian coins would want the series that is currently out, for reference. When I get a new coin or 2 , I always pull out the BOOK and check it out,CCN is great as well but more on price fluctuations." I recently published a book titled; "The Coin Collector's Field Guide, 1st Edition 2013." It has a complete checklist of Canadian coins with most major errors, values, and mintages. The book also includes a pictured coin grading section and silver coin values which are not included in the Charlton Coin Guide. I would greatly appreciate any feedback about the book. Check it out on my website at: http://www.woolardcoinsupplies.com where it is also available for purchase for a great price.
