Hello,

I collect all the non UK variations on the IFC £1 coins and I got this one the other day. But it was quite clear to me that something was amiss - this huge line. I cant see how someone would do it mechanically, so is this a die crack?

It certainly looks like it. I've noticed that some IoM coins that I find in change don't seem to be the quality of other pound coins.

Reckon it would command a premium? That die must not have had long after this strike. Then again, it was in circulation for 7 years - so they must not be very special.

Its in awful condition though, so I doubt its of any value, It'll be my first error coin in my collection.

I would be careful to call this a die crack with those pictures. There is a possiblity that it is a crack but it could also just be a scratch. If you could get a clear pic of the crack from the rim to the design above the O in POUND it would help a lot in telling what it is for sure. Right now, I'm leaning towards a scratch.
